Author Updates: Drafting The Coming War, Upcoming Releases + More
Something light, in the interim
Hello Chosen Ones!
Man, November and December have been a whirl and a mighty wind. The blusters haven’t stopped yet either. Nevertheless, I persevere.
I thought to do a cute, light little author update, to tide us all over until I have something more substantial to say. (Everything I say is substantial, I know).
As it is right now, my main author focus is marketing (but we’re not gonna talk about that at all rn), and drafting my fourth book.
‘Fourth book’ is crazzyyyyy.
It’s actually just now occurred to me that I will be releasing three full length main series epic fantasy romance novels in the space of twelve months.
There Will Be Hell To Pay - Dec 1, 2025
Crowned In Glory - Feb 1, 2026
The Coming War - Nov 17, 2026
Guys. I need help. Please send help. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP.
I am so relieved that Crowned In Glory is ready to go already. The release is planned, book is finished and proofread, and scheduled for release. The only thing left to do is release the cover, do a very small, intentional batch of ARCs, and then release day will be here.
The Coming War, is where my stress currently lies. Even though the release is in November, and you may think to yourself ‘Oh that’s plenty of time’, you couldn’t be more wrong. I need to write the full first draft, run through at least three drafts, at least three rounds of edits, then format, proofread, and release. In less than a year.
Once again. Please send help.
It took me nine years to write both Until I Have Healed You, and Crowned In Glory.
I made the utterly stupid decision to write There Will Be Hell To Pay in one year, and paid the price in exhaustion, spiritual warfare, creative burnout, and general disillusionment with my career as an author.
And now, I’ve set myself up to do it again.
(Besides that looming disaster,) All is going pretty good with the drafting process. I’m 18.6k words into the first draft (!!!!!), and starting to sink into my characters’ voices and thoughts again. I love how my main character - Dragos (you’ll start hearing a lot about him soon), is learning and bending his dark habits for the one he loves. I am starting to see the main conflict of the book come alive - the one I planned, but wasn’t sure how I’d execute. There’s been some sweet moments, some sad moments, and some…spicy moments.
I’m touching some heavier themes and moments with this book too, because who would I be if I didn’t force Light to shine on darkness? Nobody, that’s who.
I don’t have much else to say actually. My thoughts aren’t very organized right now. I need to go do my daily writing session before 1pm hits and my creative brain goes offline for the day, and all my hopes of being productive are crushed by the exhaustion of being alive.
Here’s a tiny little exclusive snippet for you from the first draft of The Coming War, as a little treat for being a newsletter subscriber.
Until next time!
